It is learned that a military junta column conducting operations in Kani Township, Sagaing Region, was hit by a landmine attack, leaving one dead and at least 10 others wounded or killed, while five soldiers from the 33rd Light Infantry Division defected to the revolutionary forces along with weapons and ammunition.

According to Yinmarbin District Strategy No. 47 forces, a vehicle carrying junta personnel was targeted in a landmine attack today (May 12) between Thayaw Kyin village and Chaung Ma village on the Monywa-Yagyi road section in Kani Township.
