Military sources report that revolutionary allied forces, including the Arakan Army (AA) which has been accelerating military operations in Sagaing Region, intercepted a military convoy departing from Htigyaing Town at a point along its route, resulting in military casualties and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.

The military column, which had arrived in Htigyaing Town on May 8, was heading toward Katha Town on May 10 when AA, KIA, PDF, and allied joint forces launched a surprise ambush at around 2:30 PM.
