IS-Somal has recently started escalating attacks against Puntland forces across the Cal Miskaad mountains, following a hiatus of several months during which the Puntland army declared victory and started withdrawing from several areas, replaced by local militias.

Attacks targeted Puntland forces in Qarac, Deri Madoobe, Katr Odan (?) and Dhaadaar, resulting in human and material losses.

IS-Somal directed a message to the pro-Puntland militias and anyone assisting them "even by a sip of water" calling upon them to "repent and learn from the fates of others [like them], before the hands of the mujahideen reach them".
