On May 13, 2026, Security Forces (SFs) recovered INR 6.55 million in cash, arms and explosives from Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) dump sites in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh, reports Orissa Post. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Bastar Range, P. Sunderraj, stated that the recoveries were made during intensified anti-Maoist search operations under Mission 2026 involving the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), Bastar Fighters, Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and District Police units. According to officials, SFs unearthed old Maoist dumps in the National Park area and Kavargutta Forest region with the help of intelligence inputs, surrendered cadres and local villagers. The seizure included 32 weapons, among them Light Machine Guns (LMGs), Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs), carbines, explosive materials, and 140 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and urea used for manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Superintendent of Police (SP) Jitendra Kumar Yadav stated that the operations significantly disrupted Maoist logistics and financial networks in the Bastar Division, where SFs have intensified operations since early 2024.
