Other MoA event in Chhattisgarh, Doditumnar Patelpara, Bijapur District area, India on Sun 10th May 2026
10th May 2026
On May 10, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a large cache of explosives, weapons, and equipment from an underground Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) bunker in the forested hills near Doditumnar Patelpara under Gangaloor Police Station limits in Bijapur District, Chhattisgarh, reports The Times of India. A search operation was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs regarding a Maoist hideout used for storing explosive materials and equipment. After demining and safety procedures, SFs recovered one locally-made Barrel Grenade Launcher (BGL), 29 BGL shells, around 50 metres of cordex wire used for triggering Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two generators, two lathe machines, an inverter, batteries, eight solar panels, a motor, welding and drill machines, and plastic drums. Police stated that the bunker had allegedly been constructed by Maoists to conceal explosives and logistical equipment in the forest area. The recovery comes amid intensified anti-Maoist operations across the Bastar region following the State Governments declaration on March 31, 2026, that Chhattisgarh had become free from armed Maoist activity.
