On May 10, a Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) worker identified as Mainul Islam alias Mahin (24) was injured in a shooting incident in front of his house in Ayubpur village of Amanullahpur Union in Begumganj Upazila (Sub-District) of Noakhali District by unidentified masked men, reports Prothom Alo. Four to five masked men got out of the autorickshaws, lit flashlights, and started shooting at Mahin. Noakhali District JeI Secretary Mohammad Borhan Uddin said, "The shot Mahin is an active Jamaat worker. We believe that miscreants tried to shoot him dead out of political vendetta."
