On May 9, a cadre of the United People's Democratic Front (Prosit) identified as Hegera Chakma (50) was shot dead in Puchuchhara area of ??Ward No. 4 in Sajek Union of Baghaichhari Upazila (Sub-District) of Rangamati District, reports Prothom Alo. Chakma went out for organizational work, where an armed group of 10-12 people shot him indiscriminately. When asked about the incident, UPDF Spokesperson Angya Marma said, "The deceased Hegera Chakma is our worker. He was shot dead. New masked men are involved in this incident."
