A local man had to have one of his hands amputated after stepping on or hitting a mine in Naungcho, Northern Shan State, a town controlled by the military council, according to his family members.
Htet Ko Aung, a 19-year-old from Par Hat Ward in Naungcho, was injured on May 12 when a mine exploded while he was chopping wood at his home.
