Three civilians were injured by heavy artillery fire from the military council in Ler Doh Township, Kler Lwee Htoo (Nyaunglebin) District, an administrative area of the Karen National Union (KNU), according to a statement released by the KNU yesterday, May 11.
On May 7, the military fired two 81mm mortar shells from Than Seik into Let Kauk Wa village.
The artillery fire injured 17-year-old Naw Yin Kyi, 25-year-old Naw Soe Moe, and 42-year-old Saw Maung Hla, and damaged a house and a monastery.
