Mali 🇲🇱 | The Dogon Country is once again in mourning. On May 6th, several dozen JNIM terrorists simultaneously attacked the villages of Kori-Kori (near Songho, Bandiagara, Mopti) and Gomossogou (near Diallassagou, Bankass). The toll is very heavy. 🔴 The provisional death toll reports more than 50 villagers, but several are still missing. 🔵 The villages were looted and some homes were burned. ⚫️ The DirpaFa (Directorate of Information and Public Relations of the Armed Forces) reports that the military neutralized nearly 10 terrorists and destroyed a logistics base in the vicinity. ⚠️ The Dogon Country is left at the mercy of the terrorists. The Dozo hunters lack the equipment to confront the terrorist hordes and do not receive timely reinforcements from the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) or the Russian paramilitaries of the Africa Corps, who remain based in Sévaré. To ensure their safety, many villages in Dogon Country have signed agreements with JNIM, but this offers no guarantee that they will not be targeted by terrorists. The transitional government has reaffirmed that it does not want armed militias on its soil and that only the FAMa should ensure the safety of the inhabitants, unfortunately allowing Dogon Country to descend into chaos.
