Mali 🇲🇱 | On May 5th, JNIM terrorists escalated their blockade of Bamako. 🔸 While until now the terrorists had only been blocking vehicles and forcing them to turn back, since yesterday some vehicles have been set on fire (📽️ in the first comment). 🔹 On May 5th, Senegalese trucks 🇸🇳 were set ablaze between Kayes and Bamako (western route). A driver was unfortunately injured and evacuated. 🔹 On May 6th, five Moroccan freight trucks 🇲🇦 were attacked and set on fire between Bougouni and Bamako (southern route). ℹ️ The blockade is already being felt in Bamako and its surrounding areas. The price of fuel and basic necessities has risen sharply. For example, the price of a kilogram of meat has increased by more than 30% in 10 days, rising from 3,300 FCFA to 4,500 FCFA in local markets. 🚨 Thousands of travelers trying to reach Bamako are currently stranded in numerous border towns in Mali's neighboring countries, including Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Ivory Coast. 🔹 The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) and Russian paramilitaries 🇷🇺 from the Africa Corps are organizing convoy escorts to break the blockade and supply the capital. ⚠️ The destructive power of this minority of JNIM terrorists is reminiscent of what is currently happening in Iran 🇮🇷, in the Strait of Hormuz, where the armed forces of the United States of America 🇺🇸 launched Operation "Project Freedom" to ensure the safety of maritime convoys, which are under direct threat from attacks by the Revolutionary Guards, who, although less powerful militarily, manage to penalize the world oil trade.
