Myaing People's Defense Force (Pa-ka-pha) announced that an ambush on a military column of over 500 troops led by the 99th Division, which had departed from Defense Industry Factory 22 (Kapa-sa 22) in Pauk Township, Magway Region, resulted in approximately 10 soldier deaths.

At around 10:00 AM on May 7, revolutionary forces took the initiative by setting up an ambush against the 99th Division-led column southeast of Tei Pin Kan village. The engagement lasted until approximately 12:00 PM, during which about 10 soldiers were seen falling and dying.

While the attack left the military column in disarray, the revolutionary forces eventually conducted a gradual retreat without sustaining casualties, as the enemy maintained a five-to-one manpower advantage as the battle progressed.
