UAV event in Kyiv, Darnyts'kyi District area, Ukraine on Thu 14th May 2026

As a result of an overnight Russian attack on Kyiv, a multi-storey residential building in the Darnytskyi district was struck, causing part of the structure to collapse. As of the morning, one person has been confirmed dead and at least 31 others injured.

This was reported by Rubryka, citing the Ukrainian Air Force, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko on social media, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

During the night of 14 May, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv using missiles of various types and drones, striking civilian infrastructure in several districts of the capital.

The heaviest damage was reported in the Darnytskyi district, where a strike partially destroyed a multi-storey residential building. Following the impact, parts of the structure collapsed, and people may still be trapped under the rubble.

An emergency rescue operation is ongoing at the site. Rescuers evacuated 10 people from the damaged building and are continuing to search for possible victims. Due to the threat of repeated strikes, operations are periodically paused to assess whether there are survivors beneath the debris.
