An armed attack at the Morelos Market in Puebla left a 10-year-old boy wounded in the head and sparked a police chase that ended with two arrests after a shootout in the Maravillas area. According to police reports, two men on a motorcycle opened fire on the parking lot of the market. The boy was present at the time of the attack and was struck in the head by a bullet, while two other people were also injured, including his mother. Following the attack, security forces launched an immediate operation that resulted in a chase with gunfire. The alleged assailants were located and arrested about 15 minutes from the scene, near the Maravillas neighborhood. The incident occurs within the context of a previously reported criminal dispute in the Morelos Market area, where state authorities have acknowledged the presence of groups such as La Familia Michoacana and Los Toscano, vying for control of the territory. In recent months, this area has seen shootings, assaults, and arrests related to extortion. The investigation remains open to determine the responsibility of those arrested and their possible connection to organizations operating in the area, while the minor remains the most sensitive case following the attack.
