SAA event in Mexico on Thu 7th May 2026
7th May 2026
An operation by the Mexican Army in the Infonavit Humaya neighborhood of Culiacán resulted in the arrest of 10 people and the seizure of drugs, communications equipment, and weapons. Military personnel deployed in one of the areas that has maintained a strong operational presence in recent months due to reports of criminal activity and the movement of criminal cells in the Sinaloa capital. During the operation, a handgun, a magazine, 20 rounds of ammunition, and several doses of drugs were seized. Federal forces also confiscated 14 cell phones, computer equipment, and a motorcycle—items that are often key in investigations into criminal communications and logistics networks in the area. Infonavit Humaya and nearby areas of Culiacán have been the site of frequent military deployments and federal operations, amidst pressure from authorities to contain organized crime structures in Sinaloa. The detainees were transferred to the appropriate authorities, while investigations continue to determine their alleged involvement in illicit activities.
