SAA event in Mexico on Tue 12th May 2026

Seven people were arrested during Operation "Guadalupe Seguro" (Safe Guadalupe) in various parts of Guadalupe, Nuevo León, involving the Civil Force, the Army, and the municipal Special Tactical Group. The arrests took place in neighborhoods such as Cañada Blanca, Ciudad Despierta, Nuevo Almaguer, and Valle Soleado, areas where reports of drug dealing, vehicle theft, and cells operating for different criminal groups seeking to control the Monterrey metropolitan area have increased in recent years. Agents arrested six men and one woman. During the operation, they seized a loaded 9mm pistol, 65 doses of crystal meth, several doses of marijuana, and two motorcycles allegedly used for transportation in the area. First-hand accounts indicate that some deployments caused tense moments among residents due to the sudden closure of streets and simultaneous searches in different sectors. The municipality of Guadalupe has become a priority operational focus for state authorities due to the increase in arrests related to drug dealing and the movement of criminal groups between Juárez, Apodaca, and the Monterrey metropolitan area. The seven detainees were turned over to the appropriate authorities while the investigation continues.
