Mali 🇲🇱 | Between May 10th and 11th, near the Baoulé forest (Kayes), several high-voltage pylons were destroyed by JNIM terrorists.
🔸 After blocking several access roads to Bamako and then setting fire to dozens of trucks and buses, JNIM terrorists are now sabotaging the power lines supplying the capital (📷 inset).
ℹ️ The lack of electricity, coupled with water shortages and the current heatwave, is severely impacting the residents of the capital.
🔸 Even though fuel convoys, escorted by the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) and Russian paramilitaries 🇷🇺 from the Africa Corps, have been able to supply the capital in recent days, the number of generators is still too limited to ensure a continuous power supply to health facilities and other government services.
⚠️ Terrorist threats are also targeting the Manantali and Sélingué dams and hydroelectric power plants. These facilities are critical, not only for their water reserves but also for supplying electricity to Mali and the neighboring countries of Senegal 🇸🇳 and Mauritania 🇲🇷.
🔸 If the threats were carried out by JNIM terrorists, it would impact the entire sub-region.
