On 5 May 2026, around 10:30pm Muscat time, suspected Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched 1 missile that directly impacted the CMA CGM San Antonio container ship (IMO: 9294173) in the Strait of Hormuz. The attack damaged the vessel, and caused at least 5 injuries among crew members, one of them severe. 8 crew members in total were later evacuated to a hospital. This took place amid the US/Israel-Iran conflict and a naval standoff and reciprocal blockade between the US and Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
