On 6 May 2026, an explosive device planted by the Indonesian military exploded in Omukia district (coded to Ilaga district, Puncak regency, Central Papua province). 7 Papuans sustained injuries, including church leaders, traditional leaders, village officials, and the Omukia District Deputy Secretary. There were no fatalities. Locals claimed it was a booby trap attached to a shooting victim's body, who was killed in an attack around 1-3 May 2026 (coded separately).
