On 6 May 2026, Iraqi army F-16 carried out two airstrikes in Hamrin Mountains - Kirkuk (Kirkuk), destroying two hideouts used by ISIL militants for hiding and supplies. The operation was based on intelligence information from the Directorate of Military Intelligence, following three days of monitoring the cell. Joint security forces conducted a search operation on the following day near the sites of the airstrikes, finding two bodies of militants, ammunition, explosives, and logistics materials. Fatalities coded as 2 based on Al Maloomah (latest report).
