On 8 May 2026, near Bellavista vereda (Salgar, Antioquia), suspected members of the Edwin Roman Velasquez substructure of the Gulf Clan detonated an explosive device targeting a military vehicle traveling along a local road. The device is suspected to have been activated prematurely, so it did not cause significant damage. One soldier sustained minor injuries from shrapnel from the explosion. There were no fatalities.
