On 6 May 2026, in Carolina del Principe (Antioquia), two individuals placed an explosive device at the entrance of a commercial establishment in front of the central park, which detonated shortly afterward and caused damage to the property's infrastructure. Regional authorities attributed the attack to the Gulf Clan and stated that it was linked to extortion against the property's owners, who had denounced receiving pamphlets and threats demanding extortion payments from the group. There were no casualties.
