The Armed Forces, through the Ecuadorian Navy, carried out a military operation in the Balao sector following an emergency reported in the area, with the participation of coast guard units. Due to citizen complaints about engine thefts, a maritime security and protection operation was conducted, involving the inspection of vessels approximately 11 nautical miles from Puerto Bolívar, which yielded the following results: -06 individuals arrested, including one citizen of Peruvian nationality -04 vessels seized along with their respective engines -04 firearms -Various ammunition rounds The personnel and materials seized, which included weaponry and ammunition of various calibers, were handed over to the competent authorities. The Armed Forces, through the Ecuadorian Navy, remain steadfast and determined in their commitment to ensuring the comprehensive security of citizens, confronting head-on any illicit activity that disrupts the peace of coastal communities.
