SAA event in Ecuador on Sun 10th May 2026

The Armed Forces, through the Ecuadorian Navy, carried out a military operation in the Balao sector following an emergency reported in the area, with the participation of coast guard units. Due to citizen complaints about engine thefts, a maritime security and protection operation was conducted, involving the inspection of vessels approximately 11 nautical miles from Puerto Bolívar, which yielded the following results: -06 individuals arrested, including one citizen of Peruvian nationality -04 vessels seized along with their respective engines -04 firearms -Various ammunition rounds The personnel and materials seized, which included weaponry and ammunition of various calibers, were handed over to the competent authorities.
