Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Dnipropetrovsk , Samarivskyi District area, Ukraine on Thu 7th May 2026

The Security Service and the National Police "hot on the trail" detained two residents of the Samarivskyi district of the Dnipropetrovsk region who, on May 7, at the request of the Russian Federation, blew up the car of a serviceman of the Armed Forces.

"Verbatim prosecutor's office : According to the investigation, two residents of the Samaritan district, aged 21 and 22, acted on the instructions of the Russian special services. They planted an improvised explosive device under a serviceman's car and installed a video surveillance device nearby, through which video recording was carried out in real time. Later, a representative of the Russian special services remotely activated the explosive device."

Details : It was established that the men agreed to blow up the car in exchange for a monetary reward from a representative of the Russian special services.

During the searches, mobile phones, SIM cards, and clothing that they used during the preparation and commission of the terrorist attack were seized from the detainees.

Currently, investigators of the Security Service have informed them of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act).

The perpetrators are in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
