Police were called to an address outside Eskilstuna on Saturday night. A man was found seriously injured and his life could not be saved. A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The incident occurred at around 2am on Sunday morning. Police were initially called to the scene after reports that a house party had gone awry. When the patrol arrived, they found a very seriously injured man. He was reportedly injured by a sharp object.
– My impression is that it was a small party but with high levels of intoxication, says police spokesperson Angelica Israelsson Silfver.
Despite life-saving measures, the man's life could not be saved, and he died at the scene, police say. The man's relatives have been notified.
A man who was in the residence has been arrested on probable cause on suspicion of murder. The crime scene was cordoned off for a forensic examination and at 09.30 the police announced that it was complete.
The police also state that they consider the suspected murder to be an isolated incident and that there are currently no connections to gang crime. The police are also not looking for more suspects.
