SAA event in Jharkhand, Irba Golchakkar, Ranchi District area, India on Thu 30th April 2026

On April 30, two cadres of the outlawed Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), a splinter group of the banned Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), were arrested by Police near Irba Golchakkar under the Ormanjhi Police Station limits in Ranchi District of Jharkhand, following a complaint by a businessman regarding an extortion demand of INR 1 million, reports Devdiscourse. The arrested cadres were involved in extorting money from local businessmen in the area. During the operation, Police recovered arms and incriminating materials, including a country-made pistol and mobile phones, from their possession. Authorities indicated that the recovered devices may provide further leads into the group’s activities and network. According to officials, both cadres confessed to their involvement in the extortion racket. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against them, and they have been remanded to judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing to establish their identities and ascertain possible links to other TSPC operatives active in the region.
