On May 6, Khalistan Liberation Army (KLA) claimed responsibility for a low-intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast that occurred on May 5, at the gate of the Border Security Force (BSF) Punjab Frontier Headquarters in Jalandhar District in Punjab, reports The Tribune. The outfit stated the attack was in revenge for the death of a militant in an encounter, but inflated casualty figures. No BSF personnel were killed. The explosion injured delivery boy Gurpreet (22) and caused property damage. Explosive material is suspected to have been planted in a dustbin located between a BSNL box and the victims scooter. The dustbin was destroyed, and the BSNL box was badly damaged.
