On May 5, Arakan Rohingya Organization (ARO)'s ‘commander’, named Kefayet Ullah Halim (45), was killed in a gunfight with Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) in Tarjar Bridge area at Balukhali refugee camp in Ukhiya Upazila (Sub-District) of Cox's Bazar District, reports Prothom Alo. Two other people who were shot and injured were identified as Mohammad Ullah (37) and Nur Mohammad (32). Kefayet Ullah. Three others were returning to their camp from another camp on a motorcycle when they were shot at indiscriminately by ARSA cadres due to a desire to gain control of the refugee camp and previous enmity. Under Halim’s leadership, the ARO was involved in anti-ARSA activities in the refugee camp.
