A young motorcyclist was shot dead by “death squad” (state-backed armed militia) members near the mountainous Raskoh area of Kharan District in Balochistan on May 4, reports Zrumbesh. The deceased was identified as Ali Jan, son of Asghar Ali Siayapad, a resident of Eri Kallag area. The armed group had been lying in ambush since the previous day in the Raskoh mountain range, disguised as freedom fighters, reportedly in pursuit of local insurgents. When Ali Jan passed by on his motorcycle, the gunmen called out to him to stop. When he did not halt, they opened fire, killing him on the spot.
