SAA event in Chhattisgargh, Todma, Dantewada District area, India on Sat 2nd May 2026

On May 2, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) dump in dense forest near Todma village under Barsur Police Station limits in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh, following specific intelligence inputs, reports ETV Bharat. The operation was carried out jointly by the 195th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Dantewada Police as part of ongoing anti-Naxalite operations in the Bastar region. During the search, SFs recovered 75 electric detonators, 7.62 mm Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) rounds, 5.56 mm Indian Small Arms System (INSAS) rounds, 7.62x39 mm rounds, 12-bore cartridges, and empty cases. Additionally, .303 blank cartridges, Barrel Grenade Launcher (BGL) empty shells, and around 500 grams of explosives, gelatin, safety fuse wire, and electric wire were seized. SFs also recovered communication equipment, including Digital Mobile Radios (DMRs) and wireless sets, along with a Bharmar rifle, grenade pins, batteries, urea powder, and Naxalite literature. The recovery is assessed to have averted potential attacks and dealt a blow to the Naxalite network, as intensified operations continue in the region.
