A local resident of Hpakant told Shwe Phi Myay that one child was killed and two others were injured due to a mine explosion in Lone Khin village, Hpakant Township, Kachin State.

The explosion reportedly occurred around 11:00 AM today, May 7, at a junction near the monastery in Lone Khin village when a planted mine detonated. A person familiar with the incident informed Shwe Phi Myay that the two injured individuals are in critical condition.
