FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A sheriff’s office in the Pee Dee was evacuated on Wednesday morning.

Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye said the building located on Friendfield Road was evacuated after a suspicious package turned out to be a pipe bomb.

The bomb was discovered in the forensics unit. The sheriff’s office said the building is clear and operating as normal.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, as well as the bomb squad, was called to the scene.
