30th April 2026
Juan Enrique N was shot and killed on the afternoon of Thursday, April 30, in the República Mexicana neighborhood of Culiacán. The 35-year-old man was seriously wounded in a direct attack carried out by armed men traveling in two vehicles on Nardo Street. Upon arriving at the scene, members of the Mexican Army and the State Police observed large-caliber shell casings scattered near a bloodstain on the sidewalk, evidence of the violence plaguing this area in the southern part of the Sinaloa capital. The República Mexicana neighborhood is known to be a hotspot due to the internal dispute between organized crime factions vying for total control of the territory. The assailants managed to escape before the police cordon was established. The victim was taken by his family to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reported as critical, while the area remains under military guard.
