A 35-year-old man, identified as Daniel Emilio, was shot and killed Thursday afternoon while working at a business known as “La Casa del Coco” in the Culiacancito district of Culiacán, Sinaloa. According to the Public Security Secretariat, armed men entered the business, located on the eastbound lane of the Culiacancito highway near the Bacurimi restaurant district, and repeatedly opened fire on the victim. Daniel Emilio, a resident of the Bellavista police station, died in the service area of the establishment after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The attack was direct and left no opportunity for him to respond or receive help. This incident adds to the pattern of armed attacks reported in commercial areas and along highways in the Culiacán region, where similar incidents have been documented amidst the ongoing criminal dispute that has created tension in various districts of the municipality. Agents from the State Attorney General's Office went to the scene to carry out the corresponding procedures and subsequently ordered the transfer of the body to the Forensic Medical Service, where the legal autopsy will be performed.
