Three people were killed and one more seriously injured in a shooting Thursday night in the Perfecto Vásquez neighborhood of San Pedro Sula, an incident that has once again raised concerns about gun violence in the area. One of the deceased was found lying at the scene of the attack. He was identified as 29-year-old Douglas Reconco, whose body was discovered by neighbors after they heard multiple gunshots. The other victims were rushed to different medical facilities, where their deaths were later confirmed. Jafeth Santos, 23, died at a local clinic, while Rodolfo Alexander López, also 23, died at the Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital despite medical efforts to stabilize him. A fourth person remains hospitalized in critical condition; their identity has not yet been released. The attack occurred in an area where violent incidents have been reported repeatedly, amidst disputes and criminal activity affecting parts of San Pedro Sula, one of the cities with the highest crime rates in Honduras. Authorities have cordoned off the area while investigative teams collect evidence and testimonies. The motive for the attack and any potential perpetrators have not yet been determined, and the scene remains under police investigation.
