Direct attack inside a home in Villas del Pedregal, Morelia: two people killed and one wounded after a burst of gunfire took them by surprise on Calle Tres. Armed men stormed in and opened fire without warning. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots followed by silence. When municipal police and the Civil Guard arrived, two people were already dead; the third was taken alive, wounded, to a hospital. The Villas del Pedregal area has been known on several occasions for violent incidents and the presence of criminal cells operating in Morelia, a city that in recent years has seen a surge in armed attacks in residential areas. This pattern—home invasions with direct gunfire—has been repeated in various parts of the municipality. The attackers escaped. The scene was secured while forensic experts collected evidence. No arrests have been made.
