SAA event in Mexico on Sat 2nd May 2026
2nd May 2026
Members of the National Guard seized two pickup trucks containing weapons and ammunition while traveling on the Mexico-Puebla highway near Santa Rita Tlahuapan, at a location known as “El Pipirín,” where the vehicles were intercepted. The vehicles involved were a black Chevrolet Suburban and a silver Land Cruiser. Both were inspected at the scene by federal agents, who located ballistic material inside the vehicles during the inspection. Among the seized items were a plastic bag containing cartridges of undetermined caliber and 28 .22 caliber shotgun shells, as well as other live ammunition of an unspecified quantity. All items were placed under the custody of the appropriate authorities. The Mexico-Puebla section has been repeatedly identified as a strategic corridor for illicit activities and highway robberies, making these types of seizures part of the reinforced patrols in the area. Following the discovery, the units and military equipment were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office to continue with the corresponding investigations.
