A man was shot and killed inside the Rancho Grande bar, located across from the Mercado de Abastos (wholesale market) in Culiacán, Sinaloa, in a targeted attack in front of customers and employees on Sunday night. The victim was identified as 55-year-old Jaime Luis “N”, a resident of the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood. The attack occurred on Calzada Heroico Colegio Militar, near the corner of Boulevard San Ángel, when armed men entered the establishment and opened fire on the man. Culiacán continues to experience a high incidence of violence related to disputes between criminal groups operating in the region, resulting in a constant stream of armed attacks in public and commercial spaces. The Mercado de Abastos area is one of the busiest at night, which amplifies the social impact of these types of incidents. Following the attack, authorities secured the scene while forensic experts collected evidence. The case has been turned over to the State Attorney General's Office for further investigation.
