Teacher and writer Andréi, 31, was shot and killed while driving his vehicle in Culiacán, Sinaloa, in an armed attack on Boulevard Obrero Mundial, before Jade Street. Assailants intercepted his car and opened fire repeatedly. The victim was driving a white Mazda when he was struck by the bullets. Witnesses report that the attackers intercepted him directly on the road and then fled the scene. No immediate arrests have been reported. Andréi was a Spanish teacher at Technical Secondary School 90 and also the author of the children's book "Bejita," which is well-known in educational and cultural circles in the Sinaloa capital. His death adds to a series of violent incidents that have plagued the city amidst the ongoing dispute between criminal groups operating in the region, which has maintained high levels of risk in urban areas and on main roads. State authorities and forensic experts from the Prosecutor's Office went to the site to collect evidence and begin the corresponding investigation, while the area was secured during the proceedings.
