SAA event in Mexico on Tue 5th May 2026
5th May 2026
Personnel from the Mexican Navy seized an arsenal in the municipality of Elota, Sinaloa. The arsenal consisted of a rifle, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, 11 linked belts, three improvised explosive devices, a tactical vest, and a two-way radio. The discovery was made during an operation in the area, where the weapons were located and secured by federal forces for safekeeping and subsequent analysis. Elota is part of a surveillance corridor in south-central Sinaloa, a region where the armed forces maintain a constant presence due to the flow of weapons and the activity of criminal groups vying for control of strategic routes. This has led to increased inspection operations in rural areas and on highways.
