On 1 May 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'West' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of a mechanized brigade, an assault brigade, a UAV regiment and the National Guard brigade (coded to Lyman) near Novoserhiivka, Kharkiv. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: an infantry fighting vehicle, a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier, 2 armored combat vehicles, 15 cars/vehicles, 3 field artillery pieces, 5 electronic warfare stations and up to 200 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Druzheliubivka, Horokhovatka, Mayaky, Novoserhiivka and Lyman [Russian MoD reported 200 fatalities.
