On 1 May 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'Center' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of three mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade, an assault brigade, a marine brigade and two National Guard brigades (coded to Kucheriv Yar) near Novohryhorivka, Donetsk. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: 4 armored combat vehicles, 7 cars, a field artillery gun, 3 electronic warfare stations and up to 275 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Kucheriv Yar, Kamianka, Novohryhorivka, Novomykolaivka, Marivka, Matiasheve, Vesele, Dobropillia and Novopidhorodne [Russian MoD reported 275 fatalities.
