25th April 2026
Property destruction: On 25 April 2026, at around 10:50pm, unidentified individuals hijacked a car in Dunmurry (Northern Ireland) and placed a gas cylinder device in the vehicle's trunk. A male delivery driver was then forced to drive the car to the Dunmurry police station, where the car was abandoned, triggering the police station to activate its emergency procedures. The device was detonated and the car exploded while nearby residents were being evacuated. There were no injuries. The New Irish Republican Army (NIRA) later claimed responsibility for the attack. The group has also claimed responsibility for a similar incident in Lurgan several weeks earlier (coded separately).
