On 27 April 2026, in Maw Taung town (Tanintharyi township, Myeik district, Tanintharyi region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped 300-lb bombs six times and opened fire with machine guns in the No.1 ward, No.9 ward, No.3 ward and near the Hpaung Seik area which fell and exploded in the Pyae Phyu Tun palm oil company. Some staff housing was damaged and a husband and wife who were around 50 years old were killed. Locals were also forced to flee as the military conducted airstrikes and dropped bombs. 2 fatalities.
