On 29 April 2026, in Kyin Dway town (Kanpetlet township, Mindat district, Chin state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike with a jet fighter and dropped two 300-lb bombs near the Mone Chaung bridge around 10:15 am while the bridge was undergoing maintenance. The airstrike destroyed one JCB excavator, one Dayan vehicle, and four KENBO R motorcycles. Democratic Voice of Burma and Mizzima reported that the airstrike killed 9 people including children. Irrawaddy, Voice of Chinland - VOC, Myanmar Now and Narinjara News reported that the airstrike killed 8 people including a woman and injured 3 people. Shwe Phee Myay News Agency reported that at least 9 people were killed and 3 people were injured during the airstrike. The Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that the airstrike killed 9 people including a woman and injured 3 people. Khonumthung News and Khit Thit Media reported that the airstrike killed 9 people including a woman and injured 4 people. Fatalities coded as 8, using the lowest estimates. 8 fatalities.
