On 1 May 2026, an explosive remnant of war detonated near Al Mazareh area in Ain Al Tamur district (location unknown, coded as Ain Al Tamur city, Kerbala), killing one member of the Popular Mobilization Forces 37th Brigade and injuring two others. The PMF members were approximately 1 km from the location of the remnant, and they were securing pilgrimage routes in the area. Security forces cordoned off the scene and opened an investigation. 2 injured, 1 fatality.
