On 28 April 2026, Iraqi army air defenses at Camp Al Sharaf attempted to shoot down an unidentified drone over the Green Zone (coded as Camp Al Sharaf, Baghdad) but failed. The interception attempt was repeated by C-RAM air defense systems of the US embassy, but the drone was not shot down and flew away. The shrapnel falling from the interception attempts injured one person. 1 injured. There were no fatalities.
