IED event in Lebanon on Sun 26th April 2026

On 26 April 2026, at 9:40 AM local time, Hezbollah launched 1 suicide drone targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers in Taybeh (Marjayoun, Al Nabatieh), in response to Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon. At 10:10 AM local time, Hezbollah launched 2 additional suicide drones targeting an Israeli military evacuation team attempting to evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield; one of the drones was intercepted. The IDF confirmed the incident, stating that a tank belonging to the 77th Battalion became immobilized in the town and that soldiers were attempting to repair it when Hezbollah launched a drone strike against them. At 5:45 PM local time, Hezbollah launched 2 more suicide drones targeting an Israeli Merkava tank, claiming direct hits. One IDF sergeant from the 77th Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade was killed, while six others were injured, including four seriously, in the attacks.
