On 28 April 2026, an explosive device left behind by suspected FARDC killed 1 to 2 children and severely injured three others, in Businde, Bugorhe groupement (Kabare, Sud-Kivu). The children had come across the explosive and manipulated it not knowing it was dangerous. The area was a FARDC frontline.
