On 27 April 2026, Pakistani military forces carried out airstrikes and fired missiles from an aircraft in Kunar University in the Yargol area, and other many parts of Asad Abad city, Kunar, bordering Pakistan's Bajaur district (KPK). At least seven people were killed, and 75-90, including 30 students, were injured. UNAMA confirmed that dozens of civilians were killed or wounded during the strikes. OCHA also confirmed that at least 7 people were killed, 79 others were wounded, and schools, hospitals, and public infrastructure were damaged, with around 100,000 people displaced. At least 7 fatalities.
